Our story

On January 22, 2005 Christopher Welch was inspired with a vision from God to begin a church. Through fasting and praying God gave him the Name, the Vision and the Mission for the church. On January 22, 2005 New Direction Christian Community Church was ordained. On this day Christopher Welch became Pastor of twenty-five members: 17 adults and 8 children.
New Direction experienced its first Worship Service January 23, 2005 at Cornerstone of Faith Community Church. On January 26, 2005 the church became incorporated with the State of Texas. In 2006 many ministries were birthed at New Direction which included ministries for men, women, and children, intercessory prayer and evangelism/outreach. That was only the beginning of what God was doing. On September 18, 2008, a great storm came and destroyed Cornerstone of Faith Community Church. The windows of heaven opened on September 28, 2008, and God Blessed New Direction with Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. On March 1, 2009 God’s promise and vision came forth. God delivered our current location at 2670 Spring Creek Spring, Texas 77373. |

pastor chris welchOn January 22, 2005 Pastor Christopher D. Welch was led by the Holy Spirit to organize the New Direction Christian Community Church, where he currently serves as Pastor-Teacher.
Pastor Chris is a motivating and dynamic teacher. He teaches the bible in a practical and engaging manner as he ministers. With engagement and interaction he inspires others to live holy, give God their best and to walk in integrity and with the spirit of excellence. Pastor Chris and the New Direction family are committed to meeting the needs of the community and providing ministry services that teach, preach, reach and help others. Pastor Chris received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Prairie View A&M University. He is a leader with over 20 years of administrative and professional business experience. |
